An inclusive day camp for teens with Down syndrome and their brothers and sisters

A summer day camp for young teens with Down syndrome and their siblings entering grades 7-12. We have a fun one-week program from July 29 to August 9, with drop-off each day between Palo Alto and Redwood City (field trips every day!), running from 9am-2pm.

We focus on building friendships.

Counselors lead teens in an approximate ratio of 2:3 for safety in the community, with extra volunteers on swim day.

Sun Camp Teens is partially subsidized by fundraising through tax-deductible donations to our project through our fiscal sponsor, Social Good Fund, to keep camp affordable and safe for our teens, as camp fees only represented a portion of actual costs.

July 29 to August 2 and August 5 to 9

$400/wk, reduced rate ($350) for siblings registered for the same week

An inclusive day camp for children with Down syndrome and their brothers and sisters

Sun Camp is a summer day camp, now in its sixth year, for children with Down syndrome and their siblings entering grades K-6. (Children with similar conditions and their siblings may register with advisory board approval.) This will be a two-week program from July 29 to August 9 on the Peninsula, with site TBA. It will run from 9am-2pm.

We will focus on building friendships and building interest and skills in a variety of activities.

We aim for a counselor to child ratio of 1:2. Campers who need a 1:1 may need to bring a helper--please consult Rachel. There will be 14 camper spots available per week.

Registration will begin March 21. Sun Camp will be partially subsidized by fundraising through tax-deductible donations to our project through our fiscal sponsor, Social Good Fund, to keep camp affordable and safe for our kids, as camp fees only represent about 2/3 of actual costs.
